    Two things:

    1. The coffee corner at the library. It is ok to be a bit more expensive i think. But why is the quality not better? I feel that the breads are always very dry and with barely any salad or vegetables.

    2. Half of the library is full with “reserved” places all day, i.e. students leave their books their for hours to guarantee a spot for later. This makes the spots available unnecessarily scarcer. I saw a interesting solution to that problem at Bonn’s University: they ask you to leave a paper at your place that says when you left your place. At not so busy hours you could leave your stuff there for an hour or two (can’t remember the details), and at the busy times half an hour or hour. If you did not come back and there is a scarcity of seats the library staff ( i think) would take it away and you could pick it up at a certain place in the library (maybe against a small fee?, not sure). Maybe that’s an idea that would also work at Maastricht University?

      Thanks for your input!
This is what we are going to do in the near future regarding your remarks:
      1) we will discuss this with the owner of the coffee corner and ask if he can do something about the quality of the bread.
      2) from June 15 onwards we will work with a new concept in the library, where the staff is much more visible in the complete library. One of the tasks will be to keep a very close eye on the reserved places and come up with solutions for the near future.
