Alumni are cordially welcome to the University Library. The University Library understands the information needs of alumni from Maastricht University (UM). The world of academic information is changing rapidly and the University Library would like to share knowledge about these changes with UM graduates.
The University Library offers alumni the following services:
- access to both library locations (in the inner city and in Randwyck)
- explanation on the spot by library staff about the services you can expect
- use of all hardcopy and electronic* information sources in the building, including the learning and resource centre
- possibility of borrowing books
- possibility of requesting books and journals from the closed stacks of the University Library and –for a fee – from other libraries (Interlibrary Loan system (ILL))
- free participation in information skills education from the University Library, such as specific training in how to search specialised databases. You can register for these courses via the University Library website.
To get access to these services we would like to ask you to become a member of the University Library. You can do this by going to the University Library desk and identifying yourself as an alumnus by logging on to Alumninet.
For €36.50 per year, you will receive a UM card which is activated as a library card and – and as an extra service for alumni – contains a free credit for 100 copies/prints. With this gesture to alumni, the University Library supports UM’s alumni policy.
For questions: alumni@maastrichtuniversity.nl or Ask your librarian.
* Most electronic information sources require a physical presence in the library and, as regards licences, cannot be accessed from home or elsewhere.
