Founding of Maastricht Academic Heritage Fund

Other universities have had them for quite some time and now Maastricht University (UM) has one as well: a fund to supplement, digitise and/or exhibit the special collections. The University Fund, also known as SWOL, has named this the Maastricht Academic Heritage Fund.
Those interested in contributing to the management, acquisition or promotion of the special collections can make a (tax deductible) donation to the fund and indicate which project they would like to support. There are currently two ongoing projects: the digitisation of the ‘Tijdschrift voor het Regt’ (Law Journal) and the promotion of the Pierre Kemp collection.
To draw attention to the fund, it will (soon) be included on the University Library website along with additional information about the projects. Furthermore, 11 paintings by Pierre Kemp will be transformed into greeting cards and sold separately or in sets.
Specifically for UM staff: this year’s Christmas gift will once again come with the opportunity to donate to the University Fund. You can indicate whether you would like your donation to contribute to one of the aforementioned projects.
