Job description, qualifications and skills

Depending on the student’s (IT) skills and interests, several tasks can be addressed:

• Documenting recurring workflows and FAQs stemming from EleUM, using the EleUM blog. Skills: Expert knowledge of Blackboard and WordPress.
• Designing and developing a website serving large PDF documents from special collections, based on Tallcomponents software. Skills: ASP.NET, PDF.
• Restoring of ejournal acquisition webpages based on the SFX knowledge base. Skills: MySQL, Transact SQL, ASP(.NET), Shell scripting.
• Upgrading and improving the current e-reader webpages. Skills: Information analyses and functional design, development in ASP.NET.
• Integrating the library services into Windows 8 METRO interface. Skills: MS Visual Studio, MS METRO APPS.

Motivated and determined students, registered at Maastricht University, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, first rate Dutch and English language skills and demonstrable experience in an ICT workenvironment. A recommendation of a faculty member will be considered an advantage.

Conditions of Employment

Maximum monthly salary in Euros: minimum € 360,-  to maximum 419,- (0,2 fte) gross per month for a determinate period of time. Contract duration: 0,5 year. The terms of employment of Maastricht University are set out in the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities (CAO). Furthermore, local UM provisions also apply.
